How do I create an account?
Download the Hey Neighbour app from the App Store or Google Play Store, then sign up using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You'll be prompted to create your profile and grant location permissions.
Why does the app need location access?
Hey Neighbour is a location-based service that connects you with nearby neighbours. Location access is required to show you community members in your area and display relevant help requests. You can control location permissions in your device settings.
How do I post a help request?
From the home screen, tap the "New Request" button, fill in the details of what you need help with, and post it. Nearby neighbours will be able to see and respond to your request.
How do I update my profile?
Navigate to the Profile screen from the bottom navigation menu. From there, you can edit your display name, profile picture, and other personal information.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We take your privacy seriously and use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your exact location is never shared publicly - only approximate proximity to other users. Read our Privacy Policy for more details.
How do I report inappropriate content or behavior?
If you encounter content or behavior that violates our Terms of Service, please report it immediately by emailing us at hello@hey-neighbour.com.au with details of the incident.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your Profile screen, scroll down, and tap "Delete Account". This will remove your profile from the community and prevent you from logging in. For permanent data deletion, contact us at hello@hey-neighbour.com.au
Can I use Hey Neighbour while traveling?
Yes! Hey Neighbour is perfect for travelers who want to connect with locals or other travelers in their area. Simply open the app, and you'll see nearby users wherever you are.
The app isn't working properly. What should I do?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure you have the latest version of the app
- Check your internet connection
- Verify location permissions are enabled
- Restart the app
- Restart your device
If problems persist, contact us with details about the issue you're experiencing.
Data Deletion Request
If you would like to request permanent deletion of your data from Hey Neighbour, please send an email to hello@hey-neighbour.com.au with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:
- The email address associated with your account
- Your display name (if remembered)
- Any additional information to help us locate your account
We will process your request within 30 days and confirm once your data has been permanently deleted from our systems.
